A visit with Andrew

I went and seen Andrew yesterday In the hospital he really is a trooper and trying really hard not to hate being there. He was really excited to get a lot of cool things that I brought and lots of people sent him but what Andrew really wants is to be able to come home and play outside. He tires really easy and sometimes is in a lot of pain. He receives Chemo regularly it comes in 5 stages. He recieve Chemo in his spinal fluid that should last 28 days he has to have medicine for nausa for that called zolfran. he gets Chemo in his port they placed in him in surgery and he takes some by mouth 3 times a day which he really hates. He has to be on Antibiotics all the time because he has no immune system. He cannot stand for any length of time it hurts to much and he could fall and he still is not eating very well but hope that will change. Andrews greatest accomplishement yesterday was beating me at candyland and shooting the dart gun. Although fun is good sleep soon overtook him and he was ready for bed.

Andrew

Andrew is 5 years old his life is just begining to be an adventure. He has a twin sister and a mother that loves him very much. He is surrounded by all kinds of people that love him dearly. A little boy who learned to ride his bike all by himself without training wheels, who spends time playing like every other little boy you could imagine. He smiles regularly and makes your heart sing. He can be honery and joyful in one spare minute. Andrews life changed abruptly about a week ago when he went from being happy and joyful to not feeling so good. he had bruises on his legs not anything out of the normal for a little boy but what was really odd is he had tiny purple blotches all over his body that just was not normal. His mom said something is wrong here and took him to the doctor where the doctor was concerned with due cause he was sent to the hospital. They took 30 tubes of blood and sent him on to Children's Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Andrew has Leukemia he is really sick and after they confirmed it will spend a long time in the hospital receiving chemo treatments for A L L Leukemia. He is tired a lot and does not have much of an appetite but his spirits are high. We dedicate this blog to Andrew and everything he goes through and appreciate all prayers and help he can get. No one knows the plans God has for us or the trials we will face but we know with prayer and faith he will get through this and we ask all of you out there to please pray for Andrew with all your heart. Andrew has a 85% chance of remission and we will pray for an even greater chance for him to feel better soon and not have to face all that he does have to face everyday.
