I apologize for the late update for all of you following Andrew's progress this time of year brings the busy, busy, busy season. The information I have for you on Andrew's progress is minimal his benefit was not as big a success as we all hoped it to be donations are appreciated for any and all cost that it takes in this family's time of need. Andrews Chemo protocol has been changed yet again. He will now undergo for weeks of intense Chemo with the med's in his port and spinal fluid at the same time. The Doctors are trying very hard to kick this disease in Andrew. Prayers for the Doctors for them to make great decisions concerning his treatment. Prayers for his family for the stress this brings and prayers for Andrew to beat this disease and get better. The most amazing thing is Andrew is in good spirits still and we are all optimistic about this situation. So Pray with all your heart I will update you when I have more information.
God bless!

Update Week of April 26th
Andrew has been doing great at home doing out patient chemo and oral chemo at home. Yesterday he went to the zoo and loved it. The zoo is a big place so he rode in a stroller most of the time he can not walk all of that without getting to tired. Andrew said he saw bears, elephants which is what he really likes and tigers, Monkeys, and a giraffe. He has a great time He came home and took his nap but was awakened by not feeling well and it sent him back to hospital yesterday evening with a fever So as his levels are slowly going down and we need them to go up we pray for Andrew to get past this possible infection and his numbers to come back up.

Update for andrew
Recently most of you know Andrew got to come home for a bit before his last bone marrow aspiration. Andrew has been doing good and the last bone marrow aspiration showed that he had .01% blast left that puts him in mild remission and he still has to have two more months of treatments hopefully outpatient. That is still a reason in this situation to praise God!!!! Always pray and praise. The set back at the moment is earlier this week Andrew developed a high fever and it put him back in the hospital for a bit his immune system is up but he is battling an infection of some sort so Pray for that as well.

relay for life in honor of Andrew
this July I will be walking in the relay for life in honor of Andrew and the fight against childhood leukemia it is going to be on July 9Th so make sure you put it on your calender and plan to walk with me as one of Andrews Angles and remember that orange is the color for fighting leukemia where it when you can.
3 and 1/2 week update
Andrew is hanging in there like a trooper what a good sport he is. Chemo is still hard on Andrew and will be for a while currently the main chemo drug is causing Andrew to swell due to the steroid that is in the drugs and he has a very distended belly and face but he is still cute no matter what it does however make for a very uncomfortable experience and the appetite is starting to suffer some unless you are a bad of chips. I recently went and seen Andrew and as usual he decided to act like he was in a bad mood but warmed up eventually the best news in his book lately is that he lost his first tooth. The tooth fairy even managed to find him in the hospital that made it even better. When Andrew is feeling good he can do lots of things he can have private time in the big playroom not when others are there for he may get an infection but better than not playing at all. He also can take a walk in the roof top garden when he wants some fresh air. The best news when it comes to blood work is that Andrews anc blood levels went from 0 to 30 and then today was a big spike of 246 although he still has a long way to go to 17,000 he is starting to slowly get his immune system back again....PRAISE GOD!!!

The appetite is back
Andrew is doing well all the test show that he is slowly getting better PRAISE GOD!!!!!
Since he has been here he has not eaten much at all well that has just changed he is eating the hospital out of house and home now. He has eaten so much in the last few days I am starting to wonder where he puts it and if there is going to be enough to feed him but its great I am so glad he is working on getting some strength back. Andrew has recently found that he is craving chips barbecue, sour cream and onion, plain he is wanting them all the time its starting to ouch the pocket book but i am so glad he is eating. Keep the prayers coming they definitely work.
Christ is the lord and through him we can do all things. Nothing is impossible with the lord.

A visit with Andrew

I went and seen Andrew yesterday In the hospital he really is a trooper and trying really hard not to hate being there. He was really excited to get a lot of cool things that I brought and lots of people sent him but what Andrew really wants is to be able to come home and play outside. He tires really easy and sometimes is in a lot of pain. He receives Chemo regularly it comes in 5 stages. He recieve Chemo in his spinal fluid that should last 28 days he has to have medicine for nausa for that called zolfran. he gets Chemo in his port they placed in him in surgery and he takes some by mouth 3 times a day which he really hates. He has to be on Antibiotics all the time because he has no immune system. He cannot stand for any length of time it hurts to much and he could fall and he still is not eating very well but hope that will change. Andrews greatest accomplishement yesterday was beating me at candyland and shooting the dart gun. Although fun is good sleep soon overtook him and he was ready for bed.
Andrew
Andrew is 5 years old his life is just begining to be an adventure. He has a twin sister and a mother that loves him very much. He is surrounded by all kinds of people that love him dearly. A little boy who learned to ride his bike all by himself without training wheels, who spends time playing like every other little boy you could imagine. He smiles regularly and makes your heart sing. He can be honery and joyful in one spare minute. Andrews life changed abruptly about a week ago when he went from being happy and joyful to not feeling so good. he had bruises on his legs not anything out of the normal for a little boy but what was really odd is he had tiny purple blotches all over his body that just was not normal. His mom said something is wrong here and took him to the doctor where the doctor was concerned with due cause he was sent to the hospital. They took 30 tubes of blood and sent him on to Children's Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Andrew has Leukemia he is really sick and after they confirmed it will spend a long time in the hospital receiving chemo treatments for A L L Leukemia. He is tired a lot and does not have much of an appetite but his spirits are high. We dedicate this blog to Andrew and everything he goes through and appreciate all prayers and help he can get. No one knows the plans God has for us or the trials we will face but we know with prayer and faith he will get through this and we ask all of you out there to please pray for Andrew with all your heart. Andrew has a 85% chance of remission and we will pray for an even greater chance for him to feel better soon and not have to face all that he does have to face everyday.
